Personally the lack of more bandits and items like feasts and so on really make bannerlord just feel more like a combat cycler than If you have a surgeon in your party, and you are in an army, just watch the death-vs-wounded ratio for your party and compare to the NPC partys ratio. With the Scholar surgeon (120 medicine) as my surgeon i usually have around 1/3 dead, 2/3 wounded, for the npcs its usually the opposite. So yes, a good surgeon defenitly makes a difference in it's less useful for us. Npc armies use raiding to get more food. ah I see, well imo they should make it so that the players incentive increase towards raiding in general imo, like gain influence points, reputation, deeds etc. #7. But in bannerlords current state, warband is still better as it still has a thriving multiplayer, and the mods still make the game. Even the dlcs like viking conquest and NW. If you want specifically vanilla, or minimal mods, then Bannerlord is better.
